AFTEE's event this past Tuesday.
I wouldn't think an event held at a furniture store would be a nice setting, but Dodd and Eder in Sag Harbor did! Over 75 people came to AFTEE's event on Tuesday. The grand total of all gifts for the evening was $48,000!
During the evening, representatives from i-Tri, Open Arms Care Center, CAST and East End Hospice provided a look inside their programs and the importance of the AFTEE grants, said Claudia Pilato, AFTEE Executive Board Member and Director of Marketing for BNB.

Thank you, Claudia Pilato for the information.

Another Reason to Attend Benefits
http://www.27east.com/news/article.cfm/General-Interest-Southampton/89401/Hamptons-Party-Scene-Found-Dead-Locals-Want-Answers
Yes, maybe it's shallow, but some of us find celebrity sightings exciting. But if you are looking to do a little stalking, you are not going to find celebrities at Hamptons clubs. According to this article, the Hamptons party scene is changing, maybe even dying. Stars are now sighted at "private events." Guess what? The every man does not go to many benefits (sadly). So if you are looking to roll out the dough, don't spend it at clubs, check out a benefit! You may even see some local celebrities there. (Some Hamptonites, such as, Julianne Moore, Alec Baldwin, and Billy Joel have been featured in local Hampton papers' post benefit reviews. The evidence is there!).
As for us with less to dish out, I don't mind telling you I like both local bars' benefits and higher end benefits. If either sounds appealing, check out my calendar above.

Blood Drives tomorrow
Cookies? Orange juice? Chili? Soup? Just one of the perks of donating blood, a wonderful gift. If you are lucky enough to be healthy enough to donate, do it! There are two tomorrow. One in Hampton Bays and one in East Hampton. I would see your doctor before considering generously donating to both...

Ongoing Gift Card Drive and Adopt a Family Campaign
While making plans for our next holiday benefit outing, why not help out an organization?
Join the Retreat's Adopt a Family campaign which offers families in need holiday presents or gift cards. If you love shopping, spend a little extra time doing it for a great cause!
The Retreat is also seeking gift cards to local food stores to provide Thanksgiving meals to families. If you are a local, you are probably shopping for food locally (obviously). Pick up a gift card and send it to:
13 Goodfriend Drive
East Hampton, NY 11937
Call Christina to help: 631-329-4398
